Description:	What is Bob's Video Barn? BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM will be marketplace & online community for people interested in playing & selling back yard games. This last weekend my friend and I spent a couple hours at Ace Hardware cutting PCU for creating a game we used to play in college, Monkey Balls. In order to create the game you need 8 golf balls and 15+ feet of PCU. You drill holes in the golf balls and ties string through them and then assemble the PCU into a three column structure. The goal of the game is to throw the golf balls you tied together around the PCU columns; points awarded depending on the row you wrap it around. We wanted the domain name BackYardGames.com but it was taken. So instead we decided to go with BobsVideoBarn.com…explained later.

Workshop: This is where people can teach others how to create back yard games. This section will most likely have to be started by the owner (plus consistently updated by the owner) but eventually your members will help grow this section. Members will benefit from adding their “blueprints/specs” on how to build games because it will help promote their products they are selling in BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM Store.

Rules: This section will be built with WIKI software. It will allow any member to start a list of rules for a specific back yard game and post in on BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM Lawn Darts. Then any other member can go in and edit the game until everyone agrees on common rules. Alterations of the rules can also be noted. View example rule image

Store: Community E-Commerce Software will need to be built for this section so all members can post products. A regular e-commerce store would allow just the owner to sell merchandise. With a Community E-Commerce Store the owner will allow all members of BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM to list back yard games for sale.

All transactions will be done thru the buyer & seller and the owner will just take a small cut of the sale; similar to what ebay.com does.

Community: This section will allow people who are interesting (including sellers) to interact with each other. It will have the basic social networking features such as live chat, e-mail, ability to create a profile, forums, blogs, groups, events, and anything else you wanted WebBizIdeas.com to create.
The Community Groups & Events will probably be very popular. This will allow people interested in playing ‘volleyball’ to join a ‘volleyball’ group. Groups can organize back yard events, send out invites, and even upload images pictures from them event so people can download them.

Why the domain name...BOBSVIDEOBARN.com?

We registered this domain name a couple years ago. We never planned on using it for a "video" site but as a great marketing tool for a unique business...strictly for public relations. Just like how Seinfeld was the show about...nothing; we thought a play on words would do well for the just the correct business. When BackYardGames.com was taken we thought the target market for this website might really get a kick out of the domain name.

How Will I Make Money?

There is NO competition, and any competitors that already sell back yard games will want to become members of your site to sell more of their merchandise. You are simply bringing together people who are interesting in playing and selling backyard games, a true marketplace.

The owner has many different options when it comes to making money on the site. He could just charge a standard membership fee for people interested in selling back yard games but we do not feel that is the best option. It would be better if they charge a standard listing fee and take a small percentage from any products sold on in the store.

The owner could also create a “how to book” for building & rules of BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM and sell it. The owner could also sell his own backyard games or form multiple vendor relationships and sell his/her own brand. The owner could hold “back yard games” tournaments throughout the country; the possibilities are endless.
